Refinancing Your Mortgage

A mortgage is a long term financial commitment. As we all know, the financial markets are constantly changing.

In Israel, many of the mortgage tracks that are offered are linked to either an index, a foreign currency, a variable interest rate or a combination of these as well as other possible variables. Each one of these variables is affected by changes in the financial markets and can affect your monthly mortgage payments as well as the principle you owe.

This is where refinancing can come in. By refinancing your loan, you can save tens and hundreds of thousands of shekel. Every mortgage that is taken in Israel can be refinanced, but before refinancing, you must check whether you can save money and the affect of the refinancing on your monthly finances in the future.

IMC evaluates your current mortgage and ascertains whether you can save money and, if so, how much. It is also important to note that the refinancing process can be done through a different lender — a bank or secondary lender other than the one where your mortgage is currently located. A new lender sees your loan as a new loan and, as a result, will often offer improved rates and terms.
